The Tradition Lives On
Throughout Southwest Louisiana, the name Musso is synonymous with quality shoe repairing. Workmanship reminiscence of Old World standards is the operative word. This well deserved reputation did not just happen. It is one that has been handed down with loving care from father to son for five generations.
The Musso family had their humble beginnings in Thibodaux, Louisiana, just before the turn of the century, 1895. Francesco Musso and his five sons were repairing shoes for the people of Thibodaux and the surrounding areas of Lafouche Parish. As the business grew, so did their reputation for quality work and products.
Our roots started with Francesco’s son Nick. He was affectionately known to everyone as Papa Nick. He had five sons and one daughter. Four of the sons followed in his footsteps in the repair business. The fifth son became a medical doctor and specialized in podiatry. His name is Dr. Joseph N. Musso, DPN, retired. The daughter helped one of the other brothers in the retail shoe business.
In 1945 at the end of World War II, one of Nick’s sons, Frank J. Musso, migrated West and opened a shoe repair shop in Franklin, Louisiana. The southwestern area of the state was beginning to blossom economically. He remained there until his death in 1971. At that time the family business was taken over by his son, Frank N. Musso. Guy V. Musso, Frank’s son, began helping in the business at the tender age of eight.
In 1990 both Frank and Guy opened a shop in the South college Center in Lafayette, La. Several years later Frank turned the business over to Guy, who is now President and General Manager, holding a degree in Business Management.
We have a tradition that precedes us by five generations to honor. At Musso Shoe Repair we believe in quality materials, friendly service and craftsmanship, all done in a professional manner at reasonable prices that are second to none throughout Southwest Louisiana.

Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Saturdays 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
